New Champs CD in the oven...

Hot on the heels of his wacky duet with Kamahl, Greg Champion is cooking up his latest CD at the studios of Rod McCormack and Stuie French. Champs describes the new CD as "novelty and fun songs about Australia", and an RTV - a Return to Traditional Values for him.

"My last three CDs have been more in the sensible sensitive singer songwriter style," says Greg - "and that's a lot of 'esses'! These more humourous ones have been stacking up for a few years."

"There are singalongs and some songs where we've used choral style singing groups in the studio," Champs reveals.

"And because a few of the songs are in the Western Swing style, which I adore, I took those ones to the Swing Guru, Stuie French."

Jane Saunders, Colin Buchanan, Jodi Martin and Beccy Cole have been helping Greg out, as have Rod & Jeff McCormack.

Greg plans to have the CD ready for Tamworth 2009, where he may play solo as a change of focus, "but - maybe with a little help  - we'll see," he says with a grin.
