GONNA MISS MIKE SHEAHAN (when he’s gone)

greg champion

CH.

You might think you can do without him

And yet I put it to you

You’re gonna miss Mike Sheahan when he’s gone

He’s not afraid to have opinions

He’s seen a truckload of football

He takes everything quite seriously

You won’t get a laugh out of Mike

And he asks the questions that need to be asked

And sometimes the ones that don’t

He’s not as issue-driven as Tim Lane

More erudite than Tony Shaw

Not as histrionic as the Bearded One

More cheerful than Patrick Smith

And he’s in the paper every day

With something new to say

He’s the voice of reason and experience

He doesn’t mind stirring the pot

On those panel programmes

He makes more sense than most

And he sits on the couch and moves his head

Like a laughing clown at The Show

One from South Australia
